Facts about Tigray People's Liberation Front

The Mengistu regime was overthrown by the TPLF (Tigrayan People's Liberation Front) in 1991.
The TPLF is ostensibly one of a number of ethnic political parties that make up the ruling government coalition called the EPRDF (Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front). The leaders of the TPLF, once a liberation front and later a political party with a potent army, now rule Ethiopia.
